Official Rules

The Alyeska Snow Classic is a gaming fundraiser for Four Valleys Community School, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Girdwood, Alaska. Winner(s) are determined by correctly guessing what the exact snow accumulation at the Alyeska Snow Classic Measuring Stick on Mount Alyeska is in Girdwood, Alaska. The total snow measurement from the base of the measuring stick is taken by a neutral party on the publicized date. The measurement is to the nearest 100th of a foot. The winner(s) are to be notified after the measurement is taken.  If a person does not guess the exact measurement the next closest guess below the official measurement will be the winner.  Their names are to be announced in May 2020.

All tickets are numbered and accounted for. Each ticket has the following information printed on it:
1. Name of the event: Alyeska Snow Classic
2. Date of measurement: To be established annually
3. Date of the payoff to winner(s)
4. Elevation of the measurement device
5. Detailed spaces to submit guess

Tickets are sold by participating local businesses for $5.00 per ticket.

Each ticket allows the participant one guess at what the total snow accumulation is at the Alyeska Snow Classic Measurement Stick on Mt. Alyeska at an elevation of 1096 ft. on the final day of ski season in April (this year 4/19/2020). The 2020 date will be decided prior to the beginning of ticket sales.

Completed tickets are deposited into a sealed container at participating businesses. All ticket sales close March 31, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. or when business closes. Once the ticket sales are closed, ticket sale monies, unsold tickets and sealed containers with completed tickets are picked up from each business by FVCS monitors. Prior to the measurement, all tickets distributed for sale are accounted for by the FVCS monitors. The FVCS monitors are trained adults responsible for recruiting participating businesses, working with the business’ employees on record keeping and procedure, delivering needed materials, re-supplying materials and picking up the guesses with accounting, ticket sale monies and secure container with guesses. All monitors and the measurer will be neutral persons who are unable to participate and win.

Alyeska Snow Classic is not responsible for fraudulent, misdirected, lost, late or delayed entries. Tickets reported as lost or stolen to state and/or local law enforcement are ineligible.

One prize is awarded equally to the winner(s) who guess the exact snow accumulation depth at the Alyeska Snow Classic Measuring Stick located at 1096 ft elevation.

If no ticket is found to have the exact measurement, then the closest guess below the exact measurement wins. In the case of multiple winners, the prize will be divided equally among the winners. The prize money (total gross ticket sales) is split 50/50 with Four Valleys Community School, Inc. and the winner(s). Payment will be by check made out to the winner(s). All decisions made by Alyeska Snow Classic are final.
